Safety Certification
Ensuring Safety, Powering Confidence

At KINGTEC USA, product safety, regulatory compliance, and certification are more than just operational disciplines—they are the foundation of our domestic manufacturing. As a partner to professional contractors and major retailers, we understand that building wire and extension cords must meet the most rigorous industry standards before they are installed in homes or sold on retail shelves. At KINGTEC, certification is fully integrated into our precision extrusion and manufacturing processes, from copper drawing to final jacket application.
Market-Leading Standards
KINGTEC products are engineered and certified to comply with the primary regulatory requirements of the North American electrical market. Our core production lines focus on:
- Building Wire (NM-B): Fully certified to UL 719 for nonmetallic-sheathed cables and engineered to exceed National Electrical Code (NEC)requirements for residential branch circuits.
- Extension Cords: Certified to UL 817 for cord sets and power-supply cords, ensuring they meet the safety requirements for both indoor and outdoor applications.
- Environmental Compliance: All cables are produced to be RoHS and REACH compliant, ensuring the absence of hazardous substances like lead or mercury in our PVC jackets.
Advanced In-House Testing
To maintain these high standards, KINGTEC utilizes in-house quality and safety laboratories equipped for continuous production verification. Our facility is designed to support rapid certification cycles and rigorous third-party audits by UL and ETL inspectors.
Our internal testing protocols include:
- Dielectric Withstand & Spark Testing: Continuous monitoring during the extrusion process to detect and eliminate any insulation gaps or microscopic defects.
- Grounding & Continuity Verification: Ensuring that every 3-wire cord set provides a reliable, unbroken path to ground for user safety.
- Mechanical Strain Relief: Extension cords are tested to withstand a 30-pound pull force between the plug and the cord to prevent separation and shock hazards.
- Material Integrity: Testing bare copper against ASTM B3 and B8 standards for soft/annealed copper to ensure maximum conductivity and flexibility.
Unyielding Commitment to Compliance
While we are committed to providing cost-effective, American-made solutions to mitigate tariff risks, we never compromise on safety or regulatory integrity. Our comprehensive certification infrastructure provides our customers—from global retailers to professional electricians—with the absolute confidence that every inch of KINGTEC wire is designed, tested, and certified for long-term performance and reliability.
